- Certified nursing assistant (CNA) responsible for administering daily medication to residents in accordance with accepted standards of practice, state and federal regulations and licensing requirements.
- Duties include monitoring residents, reporting changes, and collecting and recording medication administration.
- Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms and records; Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered and reports to nursing supervisor.
- Participate in meal service including serving, clearing, and cleaning the dining room; Assures that residents are positioned appropriately for meals; Assures that appropriate utensils are within reach of residents; Serves food trays and assists with feeding as indicated; Delivers and documents all a.m., p.m., and bedtime snacks and supplements; Provides hydration to all residents according to center policy.
- Observes resident, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies Nurse Supervisor or Physician of resident’s condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
