- Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of public assistance, cashiering and accounting clerical activities, receiving and documenting payments, and a variety of general clerical activities.
- Appointment to the higher level requires that the employee be performing substantially the full range of public assistance, cashiering, and account clerical duties, and meet the qualifications standards from the class.
- Work in this class is distinguished from the Cashier I level by the greater complexity of assignments, by the skill level required of the work, and by the greater independence with which an incumbent is expected to perform.
- Candidates will be required to pass a City administered pre-employment physical and may be required to pass a thorough background investigation and polygraph examination as a part of the selection process.
- Effective January 1, 2013, new members to CalPERS or an agency with CalPERS' reciprocity will be subject to the provisions of the Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA) and will receive 2% @ 62 benefit formula underwhich the employee pays 7.75% as a contribution to the PEPRA plan.
