- The Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiology Department provides quality service by performing a variety of functions and technical procedures necessary for the admission of patients that are scheduled for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, stress tests, echos and chest pain (observation patients).
- The Nurse Practitioner works in conjunctions with the Cardiologist to provide consultation to in-patients.
- The Cardiology NP will deliver quality care in preparing cardiology patients for invasive cardiac procedures (cardiac cath/EP), echo and stress testing, evaluating and treating cardiac pts, obtaining consents, and following patients post cardiac catheterization as well as admitting and discharging patients from the cardiology service.
- This means that when the Hospital is faced with an institutional emergency, employees in such positions may be required to remain at their work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at Stony Brook Medicine, Stony Brook University Hospital and related facilities.
- Located in the heart of the village of Southampton, two hours from New York City, the hospital provides healthcare services to a diverse community of year-round residents, second homeowners and vacationers.
