- Position located in Danvers GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT: Under the supervision of the Senior Operations Manager and the Practice Manager, this position is responsible for independently performing a variety of echocardiogram exams, following Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Cardiac Ultrasound Laboratory echocardiography protocols and writing preliminary echocardiography report to interpreting physician.
- This professional also has the responsibility for assisting with training Cardiac Sonographer Students and /or Cardiac Sonographer Level I. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform comprehensive and high-quality echocardiograms following MGH echocardiography protocol.
- Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct echocardiography examinations in accordance with infections disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Essential computer skills, including operating systems, word processing, database use, electronic mail, and other office management systems, such as echocardiographic laboratory reporting software, image archiving, i.e. Picture Archiving and Communications Software (PACS) and EPIC system.
- Provide patient services consistent with the Scope of Practice and Clinical Standards for the Cardiac Sonographer.
