- Cancer Community Interventionist Open Rank Faculty Precision Health for PopulationsUniversity of Virginia School of Medicine and University of Virginia Comprehensive Cancer Center The University of Virginia's 2030 plan recognizes Precision Health as a major societal challenge and an opportunity for multidisciplinary work that draws on our existing strengths.
- Pursuant of this initiative, the Department of Public Health Sciences (PHS), School of Medicine, at the University of Virginia (UVA) and the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center (UVACCC) will be inviting talented researchers to join an exemplary team of investigators to advance precision health strategies directed to cancer prevention and control and reducing cancer disparities.
- This is part of a major Grand Challenges research investment of over $50M in Precision Medicine/Precision Health.
- One of 3 anticipated appointments are expected to include: Cancer Community Interventionist (see below); as well as Cancer Epidemiologist, and Cancer Digital Health / Behavioral Health Interventionist.
- Cancer Community Interventionist Researchers sought will be trained in implementation sciences and community-based research to join this UVA sponsored Precision Health Initiative to envision, plan and conduct innovative multilevel interventions that advance cancer risk reduction, early detection and outcomes in collaboration with the Cancer Centers Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) program and community stakeholders.
