- Under general supervision, reviews residential and commercial plans to ensure compliance with State and City building codes, including structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire/life safety, California Energy Regulations, and accessibility laws.
- Receives general supervision from, and reports to the Building Official.
- The Building Inspector position represents an entry-level classification suitable for individuals with experience in the construction trade.
- Operations, services, and activities of a municipal building inspection and code enforcement program;
- License/Certification : Possession of a valid California Driver's License and an acceptable driving record; and possession of an International Code Council (ICC) certificate as "Combination Building Inspector" and/or "Residential Building Inspector" and/or "Building Plans Examiner" prior to employment is not required, but highly desirable
