- The Lead Teacher is responsible for curriculum development which facilitates instruction appropriate for students with a variety of academic competencies, backgrounds, skills, and learning needs.
- To design and implement daily instruction of all core subject areas to include Reading, Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, ESL, and PE. The Lead Teacher is to promote a positive climate of learning and excellence where students have the opportunity to enhance their developmental growth.
- Position Responsibilities:*In coordination with the Education Aide and Teacher, ensure the initial Academic Assessment is administered to youth within 72 hours upon arrival to the shelter and the Educational Progress Report is completed within 3 days from the date of expected discharge.
- Utilize the Seton Home adopted curriculum.
- Teaching English as a Second Language/Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages certification or other appropriate accredited body and additional training to meet the special needs of unaccompanied children preferred.
