- The Associate Engineer will be responsible for using engineering judgment to design new and rehabilitate existing conveyance pipelines, distribution pipelines, and treatment facilities including steel and concrete pipelines, underground shafts and tunnels, hydraulic structures, pumping plants, water treatment plants, pressure control structures, chemical tank farms, buildings, and buried structures such as large diameter pipelines, and reinforced concrete structures and other structures.
- The work typically includes civil, pipeline, and/or structural design in accordance with building codes and the American Water Works Association (AWWA), preparation of plans, sections and details, and development of construction specifications.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and four years of relevant experience, of which two years must have been at the Assistant Engineer II level; OR a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two years of relevant experience which must have been at the Assistant Engineer II level.
- Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
