- The Engineering Planning Department is responsible for the preparation of planning documents such as System Master Plans and Urban Water Management Plans, creation and maintenance of GIS-centric hydraulic models, and analyses culminating in Golden State Water Company’s (GSWC’s) Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and triennial General Rate Case (GRC) application.
- Performs engineering planning services associated with the development of Capital Improvement Programs and related planning documents such as System Master Plans, Urban Water Management Plans, Project Cost Estimates, Water Supply Assessments, and various Evaluations and Reports concerning water supply, distribution, storage, treatment and water quality projects
- Utilizes hydraulic models and other analytical tools to effectively assess and develop planning programs to sustain the long-term viability and reliability of the Company’s water systems
- Implements standards, processes and applications to enhance the efficiency and geospatial accuracy of data collected for planning documents and for the purpose of maintaining system maps and hydraulic models
- Coordinates internal resources towards the completion of assigned planning projects, working closely with Operations, Environmental Quality, Technical Services, Water Resources, Regulatory Affairs and Engineering Design Center
