- In the Nanoscale Magnetic and Electronic Heterostructure Group of the Materials Science Division (MSD), we aim to understand the novel and emergent behavior in nanoscale magnetic and electronic heterostructures.
- In this exciting opportunity, we are seeking an assistant materials scientist to contribute to this research to explore and understand the underlying physics of complex nanomagnetic heterostructures and their domain behavior using in situ microscopy approaches.
- The heterostructures would consist of novel magnetic materials such as van der Waals magnets and multilayer thin films of non-collinear antiferromagnet/ferromagnet interfaces.
- Of particular interest is the exploration of the topologically non-trivial spin textures such as Skyrmions using advanced microscopy (electron microscopy and scanning NV microscopy) experiments.
- Although exceptional candidates in all areas of experimental condensed matter and materials physics will be considered, particular emphasis will be placed on expertise in materials and phenomena towards use-inspired research relevant to microelectronics.
