- The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is the independent oversight body for Chicago's approximately 650 public, contract, and charter schools.
- The Office's Sexual Allegations Unit investigates allegations of sexual misconduct by a CPS-affiliated adult, including employees, contractors, vendors and charter schools, where the victim is a CPS student and/or a minor.
- Reporting to the Inspector General, the Assistant Inspector General, Sexual Allegations Unit will provide legal counsel and support to the OIG's Sexual Allegations Unit, which investigates cases involving sexual abuse or sexual harassment of CPS students.
- Provide legal counsel, support, and guidance on topics including but not limited to, the OIG's jurisdiction, search and seizure and other constitutional issues, labor and employment, interpretation and enforcement of statutes and ordinances, Title IX, and investigations in the Sexual Allegations Unit
- Closely coordinate with CPS's Law, Safety and Security, and Student Protections/Title IX Offices, other departments, and external agencies to ensure student safety and facilitate the delivery of trauma and/or social-emotional services to students, families, and staff
