- This position blends administrative responsibilities with student mentorship, teaching, and outdoor field instruction for a variety of outdoor disciplines which may include whitewater kayaking, whitewater canoeing, whitewater rafting, backpacking, canoe tripping, winter camping, cross-country skiing, alpine skiing, and telemark skiing, among others.
- The Assistant Director works directly with the trip leader training program, a semester-long program that teaches students how to effectively lead multi-day wilderness backpacking and canoeing trips for their peers.
- The BOC is in a prime location for having access to amazing outdoor classrooms, including Maine’s Western Mountains and rivers, Baxter State Park, and the White Mountains in New Hampshire.
- A Wilderness First Responder certification and experience in outdoor recreation/education field, including extensive field experience.
- The successful candidate will possess demonstrated expertise in diverse outdoor pursuits e.g.winter camping, backpacking, snowshoeing, skiing, whitewater paddling, canoe tripping, etc.)
