- The Animal Science Center is part of the Office of Research, a group dedicated to aiding the research community in navigating the lifecycle of their work, from finding funding to creating proposals to helping inventions find their way to the public.
- Our mission is to ensure while aiding in academic studies, that animal care, health and welfare is maintained at the highest standards according to Institutional, local, state, and federal regulations, policies and procedures.
- To accomplish this goal, this candidate would complete daily quality animal care for all housed research animals in the USDA facility, such as primates, chinchillas, rabbits, as well as other species when needed.
- The candidate’s assignments would include animal husbandry tasks such as cage changing, animal health checks, veterinary health monitoring and treatment, cage wash, and facility maintenance i.e. sanitization of equipment, research housing areas and materials.
- Additional responsibilities include animal receiving and housing, census data collection, and others as assigned.
