- Under the general supervision of the Director, Nursing Instructor provides theory instruction according to an approved course syllabus using accepted and effective teaching methods; develops daily lesson plans; advises and tutors students; maintains current and accurate attendance and grade records; remains current in applicable program teaching field; participates in faculty meetings, instructional seminars and in-service training sessions.
- Participates in school activities such as faculty meetings, student functions, graduation exercises, open houses, new student orientations, and advisory board meetings.
- Serves as an educator, role model, mentor and facilitator.
- Actively and substantively participates in assessment of student learning activities, including simulation, to maximize the potential for students to learn what is necessary to meet prescribes outcomes.
- A minimum of a Masters degree from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education which includes course work in nursing or in natural, behavioral or social sciences relevance to nursing practice.
