- The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is seeking a skilled technician to manage, operate, and maintain metal additive manufacturing (AM) and machining equipment across multiple metal AM labs (UDRI main campus and Dayton Composites Center).
- Work will include operation and advancement of both commercial EOS and Concept Laser systems as well as custom open architecture LPBF machines and all supporting equipment.
- The technician will work with lab managers and scientists to prepare parts for printing/manufacturing via CAD/CAM and operate equipment in accordance with research objectives.
- The overarching goals of these labs are to better understand the effects of laser manufacturing processes on materials, and to design, build, and operate next generation AM machines.
- Experience operating metal AM machines, laser powder bed fusion machines preferred.
