Job Description CFO Hub is looking for a Full-time Controller for a client in the engineering industry, this position is not with CFO Hub. A well-established engineering firm is looking for a controller to join their growing team! The Controller is personally responsible for technical and administrative management of General Accounting and Finance. This company is a growing defense contractor specializing in Systems Engineering and building hardware systems to support the Department of Defense. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a fast-paced organization in the defense sector and support our nation’s military. The applicant should have experience working for a government contractor. The applicant must be well organized, have great time management skills and be able to act without guidance. This position reports directly to Senior Management/company owners. <ul><li> Corporate Duties: </li><li>Generates monthly status reports, submitting vouchers and financial tracking</li><li>Perform postings to the General Ledger (Accrual JE’s, Payroll JE’s, etc.)</li><li>Prepare Financial Statements</li><li>Prepare for financial audits including incurred cost audits</li><li>Monitors monthly indirect rates and analyzes impact for forecasting</li><li>Performs reconciliations and journal entries</li><li>Responsible for accounts payable/receivable, payroll taxes, invoicing, contract indirect rate determination</li><li>Prepares and updates cost reports for billing purposes</li><li>Reviews timesheets for Payroll, make corrections and adjustments as needed</li><li>Assists the company with other administration duties as required</li><li> Education and Experience </li><li> Required: </li><li>Two to three years of previous Government Contract Accounting experience</li><li>Experience with Cost-Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) and Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) contracts</li><li>Experience using Deltek Costpoint, QuickBooks software and WAWF (PIEE)</li><li>Have a working knowledge of DCMA and DCAA regulations and be competent in determining Indirect Cost Proposal/rates (ICE/ICP) and Provisional Billing Rates (direct rates and indirect rates) for Government contracts</li><li>Operational use and adherence to GAAP</li><li>US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written, within all levels in the organization and among customers and business partners</li><li> Preferred: </li><li>Two to three years of previous experience defense Government contracts preferred. </li><li>Experience using Government websites that facilitate business such as SAM.GOV. </li><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is preferred; Bachelor’s in Degree Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources or related field may be acceptable. </li></ul>Job Type: Full-time Salary Range: $100-120k/per year Physical setting: <ul><li>Office - San Diego, CA (on-site) </li></ul>Schedule: <ul><li>8 hour shift</li><li>Monday to Friday</li></ul>
