Logan-Hocking Local School District LOGAN, OHIO Job Description TREASURER’S ASSISTANT – ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST Qualifications <ul><li>An associate degree in accounting/business is preferred, but a high school education or training with experience in accounting will be considered. </li><li>A minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounting using State Department of Education software. Other automated financial processing experiences will be considered. </li><li>Experience in using electronic spreadsheets and word processing on personal computers. </li><li>Skilled in operating general office equipment. </li><li>To be self-motivated with an attention to detail, and the ability to work with confidential information. </li><li>A customer service attitude with an ability to handle people in difficult situations. </li><li>The ability to work cooperatively with others and take instruction. </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. </li></ul>REPORTS TO: Treasurer or Treasurer’s designee. TIME SCHEDULE: 7 ½ Hours Per Day – 12 Month Position (260 work days) Performance Responsibilities <ul><li> Responsible for all phases of accounts payable.</li><li> Custodian and administrator of Petty Cash.</li><li> Oversee and monitor School District compliance with Board policies and procedures regarding credit cards and all matters related to finance. Review related recommended policy </li></ul>and procedural updates from the Ohio School Boards Association and provide the Treasurer with related guidance. <ul><li> Monitor outstanding warrants on a monthly basis.</li><li> Reconcile prepaid purchases and maintain compliance with accounting procedures.</li><li> Fixed asset accounting and reporting.</li><li> Provides assistance and cross-training for Accounts Receivable Specialist.</li><li> Serves as backup for Accounts Receivable for conversion of requisitions to purchase orders.</li><li> Special reports and analysis as required.</li><li> Works cooperatively with all employees and outside vendors.</li><li> Assist the Treasurer with accounting, maintaining, and corresponding regarding scholarship funds.</li><li> Perform other necessary functions as assigned by the Treasurer.</li><li> The above list is to be used as a basis for the major responsibilities of the position and therefore not to be viewed as an all-inclusive listing. </li></ul>BID DATE OPENING: Noon, Thursday, April 11, 2024 through Noon, Sunday, April 21, 2024.
