- General Summary: The UPMC McKeesport Scholars Program Coordinator will assist with students at three different levels: High School, Pre-Health Careers, and those currently enrolled in a Nursing and/or Allied Health Careers Program at CCAC. In the High Schools, the UPMC McKeesport will collaborate with High School representatives to recruit and establish pathways to stimulate an interest in the health-related fields.
- Many of the Pre- Health Career and enrolled students may be academically and psycho-socially challenged to actively and successfully negotiate systems that drive post-secondary education environments and must be supported with referrals to the College's established early intervention initiatives that will provide on-going and consistent academic support and counseling services in order to increase student success.
- In addition, the Program Coordinator will provide regular progress updates on the students to UPMC McKeesport and CCAC program leadership.
