- Serves as a Tractor Operator in the Grounds Section, Facility Management Department, Bath, NY VAMC. Primary purpose of the position is to provide grounds maintenance including operating wheel-mounted tractors and towed or attached equipment, including a heavy duty front end loader, dump trucks, lawn care equipment, snow removal equipment, backhoe, vacuum truck, excavator, aerial lift, bulldozer, etc.
- Related to Mobile Equipment Operation) Ability to Operate Safely (Non-motor Vehicles) Operation of Motor Vehicles Reliability And Dependability Work Practices Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social).
- Duties include, but are not limited to the duties below: Operate farm-type tractors and towed or attached equipment, including operation of towed or attached equipment from the seat of the tractor through hydraulic or mechanical controls to maintain grounds on hills and in rough or uneven terrain where there is danger of overturning the tractor or equipment.
- Operate heavy equipment to push, pull, pile, or load materials including sand, gravel, earth, and refuse.
- Use hand-trucks and/or dollies to move bulky/heavy items including furniture, cuts grass with push lawn mowers, rakes leaves, spreads mulch, pulls weeds, spreads salt.
