- Significant knowledge of relevant analog audio (large format consoles, outboard equipment) and digital audio technologies (including Pro Tools, plugins, outboard DSP) is required, as is a thorough understanding of audio recording industry segments, current and historic recording theory and practice, and current trends.
- Evidence of production experience in multitrack recording, sound synthesis, multimedia, event production, audio for film and television, DSP coding (particularly for AU/VST/AAX) and/or related areas are preferred.
- The teaching load for faculty in the College of Fine Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences ranges from 2-1 to 3-3, based on research productivity, and will primarily include undergraduate courses in Sound Recording Technology.
- Since the early 1990s, the SRT program has been distinguished as one of the signature programs of the campus, and the College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
- Alumni of the program have achieved the highest levels of success in many audio-related industry segments including music production, audio for visual and interactive media (film, television and video games), event audio/live sound, broadcast audio, audio system design, acoustic consultation and design, audio software and hardware design, audio education, and consumer audio fields.
