15+ years of experience designing, building, deploying, operating, scaling, and evolving distributed systems and high-volume transaction applications in a 24/7 environment.
Strong architecture and design skills with a track record of architecting and delivering distributed, cloud-based microservices, event-driven architectures and RESTful APIs.
Lead the technical vision and direction of the system, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. Excellent communication skills with an ability to right-level conversations for the audience.
Evaluate and adopt new technologies and tools to improve the systems performance, reliability and scalability.
Mentor and coach other engineers on technical skills, design principles, code reviews, etc.
Work hands-on on POCs
Work hands-on on project implementation with other engineers IDEAL TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
10+ years of experience in building Point of Sale systems from scratch.
8+ years of experience in either Java (with Spring Boot or similar frameworks), Golang, Python, Swift/Objective-C, Javascript, React, Ember, SQL etc.
5+ years of experience building large scale experiences across Mobile and Web.
Operations experience managing, deploying and maintaining enterprise large scale solutions and drive operational excellence across the organization.
Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or customers.
5+ years of experience on Cloud Native technologies on AWS, GCP or Azure with 2+ experience in GCP and/or Kubernetes specific technologies.
5+ years of experience in building highly performant large-scale data and storage systems based on Cloud technologies like CloudSQL, DynamoDB, Cloud Spanner, S3 etc.
2+ years of experience in Machine Learning and/or Data Intelligence and leveraging these to build end customer experiences.
Experience leading or contributing to multiple simultaneous product development efforts and initiatives. Insight Global is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for POS Systems to sit fully remote in Eastern Standard Time. This resource will be joining an established critical team that takes care of the design and architecture of the revenue generating POS platform. Additionally, this team is responsible for the stability of the code foundation or code-of-standard during project design phases. The team currently consists of roughly 16 individuals, but this person will be an individual contributor. Some responsibilities expected can include: Creating and implementing Proof of Concept's (POC's) around engineering principles across the board
Designing guidelines, design principles, code standards, project implementation and overall governance of engineering for associated workstreams
7 total workstreams across POS
Owning several projects around workstream initiatives (examples: POS system upgrade/refresh project)
Contributing to the hands-on software engineering of in-house platforms
Must have strength within Java/Springboot/React Native/Microservices
Reviewing and debugging issues within the custom-built code base Compensation:
