- Our classes focus on critical engagement with current political practices globally and in the U.S. The Political Science major will give students the skills they need to pursue a career in political organizing, public policy, government, or law.
- Courses offered by the department include People & Politics, American Government, Intro to Political Theory, Environmental Politics, Global Governance, U.S. Foreign Policy, and more.
- Cal Poly Humboldt is home to a number of leading Native American programs including the Indian Tribal Education and Personnel Program (ITEPP) and the Indian Natural Resource, Science and Engineering Program (INRSEP).
- There are also many opportunities at Humboldt to conduct research, teaching and community work on Native American history and cultures, with resources in Special Collections at the Cal Poly Humboldt library.
- Humboldt strives to build a supportive and inclusive Native community and engages with Native communities through initiatives and opportunities like the annual California Indian Big Time, Indigenous People's Week, and a chance to network with other faculty and staff as part of the Cal Poly Humboldt Council of American Indian Faculty and Staff.
