The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the cleaning process of hotel linens to ensure guests and hosts experience a clean hotel.All in a manner consistent with the mission, values, and operating philosophies of The Dollywood Company. Summary of Essential Functions and Responsibilities <ul> <li>Safely operate commercial washers, dryers and folding machines. </li> <li>Measure and administer cleaning agents to laundry according to product specifications. </li> <li>Monitor feeder information on washers, make sure all drums are full, and report any irregularities to immediate supervisor.Set the proper drying and cooling times for different types of linen. </li> <li>Operate the folders and other laundry equipment in accordance with the product specifications. </li> <li>Clean up machines and surrounding areas as necessary per shift. </li> <li>Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. </li> <li>Operate laundering equipment to safely and thoroughly clean and press linen, keeping work area clean and safe. </li> <li>Help ensure laundry operations run smoothly by alerting the supervisor when equipment stops working properly. </li> <li>Understand how to program and operate the ironer. </li> <li>Ability to program dryers and washers according to the product load in cycle. </li> <li>Sort out all linen that needs to be done. </li> <li>Completes other duties as assigned. </li> <li>Clean all lint traps in dryers at least 2 times per shift. </li> <li>Push and pull linen carts that are full of linen. </li> <li>Participate in monthly linen inventory. </li> <li>Count and stock linen shelves. </li> <li>Must be able to function in a team atmosphere. </li> </ul>Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time. Education and Experience Required <ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent </li> <li>Six to 12 months previous commercial laundry experience preferred. </li> <li>Must pass a post-offer background check and drug screen. </li> </ul>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities <ul><li>Able to display and live out our Lead With Love principles strongly rooted in the Dollywood Company culture by being: patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, and dedicated. </li> <li>Able to smile and make eye contact to make a friendly impression when greeting guests, vendors and other employees. </li> <li>Must have manual dexterity necessary to complete all job duties. </li> <li>Able to maintain good personal hygiene. </li> <li>Able to get along with other employees to work out problems and resolve conflicts. </li> <li>Able to comprehend instructions and retain information. </li> <li>Able to maintain dependable work attendance and flexibility with assigned work schedules including any required overtime, evenings, weekends and holidays. </li> <li>Able to tolerate a fast-paced, hectic environment. </li> <li>Able to be flexible to handle frequent changes in priorities. </li> <li>Able to prioritize tasks and complete assignments on time. </li> <li>Able to tolerate temperatures of 30 to 110 degrees. </li> <li>Able to work outdoors. </li> <li>Working knowledge of the use of laundry chemicals and different formulas, as well as effects on various types of linen. </li> <li>Ability to prioritize and organize work. </li> <li>Able to operate industrial laundry equipment required. </li> <li>Able to stand continuously while moving, able to lift, bend, stoop, push and pull repeatedly. </li> <li>Must be able to push, pull, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds. </li> <li>Ability to push and/or pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 pounds. </li> <li>Must be willing to work extra hours/shifts to insure customer needs are consistently met. </li> <li>Able to project Dollywood's image by being genuinely friendly and caring and by taking pride in their work. </li> <li>Must be self-motivated and disciplined. </li> <li>Must be able to prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis. </li> <li>Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information. </li> <li>Must display and live out our Lead With Love qualities by being: patient, kind, trusting, unselfish, truthful, forgiving, and dedicated. </li> <li>Must be willing to constantly improve. </li> <li>Must have professional appearance with good personal hygiene. </li> <li>Must promote and support a "team" work environment by cooperating and helping co-workers. </li> <li>Must adapt to changes easily. </li> <li>Must tolerate a fast-paced, hectic environment. </li> <li>Must show appreciation to others. </li> <li>Must be sensitive to the needs of our Guests and feel empowered to take action to meet their needs within company guidelines. </li></ul> The Dollywood Company is an equal opportunity employer.
