- Job DescriptionThe Interventional Radiology Technologist II (IRT II) reports directly to the Vascular and Interventional Radiology RT Supervisor.
- The IRT II will work alongside the Interventional Radiologist and RN to assist in the performance of diagnostic angiographic procedures as well as complex vascular and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures.
- He/she is responsible for obtaining all equipment needed for a procedure, positioning and imaging patients, resolving equipment issues, and demonstrating knowledge of human anatomy, radiation safety, interventional supplies and equipment operation to include fluoroscopy, US, and CT. The IRT II must prepare, administer, and document contrast given throughout procedure.
- Responsible for corroborating a patient's clinical history with procedure and ensuring information documented and available for use by clinician.
- The IRT II is responsible for post processing digital data for display or hard copy records, ensuring technical quality and proper identification is evident.
