- Coordinates conversion of geospatial information and remote sensing imagery into Geographic Information System (GIS) databases.
- Serves as technical point of contact and maintains liaison with a variety of organizations concerned with GIS, Global Positioning Systems, remote sensing and mapping.
- GS-0401: Degree: Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position; OR Combination of education and experience with courses equivalent to a major described above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
- The USDA Forest Service has legislative authority to recruit and fill Permanent (Career/Career-Conditional), Temporary, and Term Appointments under the USDA Demonstration Project.
- The Forest Service may use certain incentives and hiring flexibilities, currently offered by the Federal government, to attract highly qualified candidates.
