- Applicants must hold a Ph. D. in sustainability science, green/environmental engineering, environmental science and management, or other appropriate field, have a record of peer-reviewed scholarship in sustainability, and evidence of current or potential success in grant activity.
- The Department of Earth and Environmental Studies offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Geography, Earth and Environmental Science and Sustainability Science.
- The department manages the University's interdisciplinary PhD Program in Environmental Science and Management.
