- The Fellow will spend time in ASPCA Animal Recovery Center (ARC), Canine Annex and Recovery (CARE), the ASPCA Animal Hospital (AAH), and the ASPCA Forensic Veterinary Sciences Department.
- Within ARC and CARE, the Fellow will practice treating the unique medical conditions that arise from cruelty and neglect, such as starvation, severe matting injuries, and blunt force trauma, while gaining experience in population management and infectious disease control.
- Perform medical intake exams and initial diagnostics for ARC NYPD and Community Engagement cases
- Provide support and medical services for clients of Community Engagement (CE) and other ASPCA departments as needed including evaluation of animals living in hoarding situations.
- Participate in visits to crime scene investigations, animal collecting homes, and criminal trials.
