- The Public Safety Officer I is responsible for the safety and security of passengers, employees, and property at the Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) enforcing local, state, and federal laws and regulations in addition to responding to all medical and fire emergencies
- Responsible for other duties of firefighting such as search and rescue, structural fires, vehicular accidents, Hazardous Materials incidents including fuel spills and brush fires
- Conducts training as required by Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to maintain certifications in ARFF and Structural Fire Fighting
- Proves support to the Airport Dispatch Center as a TCOLE authorized/licensed Telecommunicator
- Actively patrols and directs patrols (on foot and/or in a vehicle), concentrating on areas controlled by TSA regulations (i.e. security checkpoint, ramps, gates, etc.)
