Have a complete understanding of the Scope of Practice of the EMT-Basic as well as Statewide treatment protocol relative to the State(s) of certification. Upon receiving vehicle assignment at start of shift, the EMT will do the following during the first 15-20 minutes of shift: complete equipment checklist; check fluid levels; visual inspection of lights and exterior; restock equipment and inform Shift Supervisor/Dispatcher of any deficiencies or problems; sign on the air with dispatch reporting in service and giving vehicle mileage.
