Job Description:Department of Applied Career and Digital Technologies at SUNY Cobleskill Ag & TechSUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech invites applications for a ten-month, visiting instructor position in off-road equipment technology. This position supports our Agricultural Engineering Technology program, which offers Certificate, Associate of Applied Science, and Bachelor of Technology degrees and prepares students for careers as skilled mechanics and technicians across a wide range of industries. The visiting instructor role is a temporary, renewable role based on individual contract.We seek a colleague who is enthusiastic about hands-on learning, workforce development, student success, and who brings professional experience from any sector related to mechanical systems and equipment technologies. Teaching experience is preferred but not required; applicants transitioning from industry are encouraged to apply.Position OverviewThe successful candidate will teach courses at the certificate and associate levels while contributing to a growing, industry-responsive program. Teaching assignments will align with the candidate's background and may be delivered in person, hybrid, or online, and scheduled on weekdays, evenings, or weekends.Relevant areas of instruction may include, but are not limited to:Equipment principles and systemsElectrical and electronic fundamentals and diagnosticsDiesel, hybrid, and electric power systemsFluid Power fundamentals and diagnosticsWelding and fabrication technologiesSurveying or precision systemsService software, diagnostic tools, and computer applicationsEquipment or service operations and managementExperience may come from industries such as construction, agriculture, heavy diesel, fleet and transportation, power generation, or related fields.Additional ResponsibilitiesIn addition to teaching, successful candidates will contribute to the academic mission of the college through:Curriculum development and continuous improvementCollaboration with industry partners and advisory groupsStudent recruitment and outreachCurriculum assessment and accreditation supportWe value faculty who foster an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment that respects diverse student backgrounds and career goals.Requirements:Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering Technology, Agricultural Education, Technology Education, Agricultural Systems Management, or a closely related technical or applied fieldIndustry experience in mechanical, equipment, or systems-based technologiesDemonstrated interest in teaching, training, or mentoringEffective communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred QualificationsIn addition to the aforementioned minimum qualifications, it is preferred the candidate also have:* Experience in teaching, training, curriculum development, or professional education and/or extensive industry leadership experience* Professional experience in equipment, mechanical, or system-based technologiesEquivalencies: We recognize that expertise can be gained through a variety of pathways.
