If you thrive in a patient-centered role that demands technical expertise, attention to detail, and a friendly approach, we want to hear from you!Responsibilities:Draw blood specimens from patients with safe, accurate, and skillful techniques, ensuring comfort and trust.Prepare collected specimens for laboratory testing, adhering to all established procedures and quality standards.Explain procedures clearly to patients, ensuring they feel at ease and informed throughout the process.Maintain meticulous records of specimen collection and processing, ensuring documentation accuracy and confidentiality.Follow all safety protocols to maintain a secure and professional environment for patients and staff.Collaborate with clinical and laboratory teams to coordinate efficient workflow and high-quality specimen handling.Demonstrate leadership behaviors by promoting process improvement, confidentiality, and a positive patient experience.Perform daily tasks with efficiency and punctuality, under the guidance of the area supervisor.Assist with special projects or additional duties as assigned to support operational excellence.Required Skills:Proven phlebotomy expertise, including experience with pediatric and geriatric blood draws.Strong attention to detail to ensure error-free work in a high-volume clinical environment.Excellent communication and patient interaction skills to build trust and explain procedures effectively.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a team-oriented approach.Data entry and keyboard proficiency to accurately document specimen collection and lab information.Sensitivity to patient confidentiality and a professional demeanor in all interactions.Physical dexterity and stamina to perform blood draws and stand for extended periods.Nice to Have Skills:Certification in phlebotomy (required in certain states, such as California, Nevada, and Washington).Medical Assistant or Paramedic training/background.Experience providing customer service in a retail or service setting.Familiarity with laboratory information systems or other electronic health records.Preferred Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience is required; 1+ years preferred.Additional medical training or certifications are a plus.Other Requirements:Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required to meet staffing needs.Certifications in phlebotomy preferred or required based on state regulations.Ability to lift and position patients as needed and stand for long periods during blood collection.Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate a commitment to quality patient care.This role offers the rewarding chance to make a real difference in patient lives while advancing your career in clinical pathology.
