Sales Manager
Job Summary:Dean’s Beans Organic Coffee is seeking a Sales Manager to join our small, dedicated team. The successful candidate will have both excellent skills and a passion for our company’s mission and values. The Sales Manager will be a strategic leader with boots on the ground; responsible for wholesale sales and customer relationships that drive revenue growth. This is a new role that will develop over time, building the department, while expanding market presence and sales systems at Dean’s Beans. This role works closely with the CEO to shape and implement the company’s wholesale sales strategy. The Sales Manager is accountable not only for achieving sales targets, but for identifying new opportunities, and contributing to the long-term growth of the business. Travel within New England using a company car and occasional product demos are expected. This is an in-person, on-site position at the “Beanery” in Orange, MA, that requires frequent driving to visit customers and prospects.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Business GrowthPartner with the CEO to develop and execute the company’s wholesale revenue and growth strategyIdentify new markets, customer segments, and distribution opportunitiesContribute to company-wide strategic planning and decision-makingEvaluate pricing, positioning, and product opportunities to drive growthRevenue Ownership & Sales StrategyOwn wholesale sales, revenue targets, forecasting, and pipeline managementAnalyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and risksDevelop and implement scalable sales processes and systemsLead high-value and strategic sales opportunities and negotiationsCustomer & Market DevelopmentBuild and maintain strong relationships with key wholesale accountsIdentify and develop strategic partnerships to expand market and brand reachRepresent Deans Beans as a brand ambassador in the marketplaceGather and translate customer feedback into actionable business insightsSignificantly increase New England sales of RTD “Nice Nitro” cold brew. Sales Execution & EnablementDesign and implement on the ground outreach strategies, campaigns, and account plansWith the Marketing Manager, develop sales tools, materials, and messaging that support growthEnsure consistent and effective customer engagement practices, including timely and responsive communication, product demonstrations, education, and work with distribution partnersMonthly reporting on sales activities and outcomesCross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with operations, production, and marketing to align supply and demandProvide accurate forecasting to support production planningEnsure alignment between sales strategy, overall business values and objectivesRole FocusThis is a strategic, business-building role. While the Sales Manager remains connected to customers and sales activity, the primary focus is on:Driving sustainable, mission-aligned wholesale revenue growthBuilding systems and processes that scale as the sales team growsExpanding market presence and partnershipsSupporting executive-level decision-makingWorking with office staff to ensure accurate order entry; responsibility for CRM data entryQualifications5+ years of successful track record in sales or business development3+ years of experience in effective sales managementDemonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and build enduring customer relationshipsStrong strategic thinking and problem-solving skillsTechnical proficiency in Microsoft Suite (i.e. Word, Excel etc.), Canva, QuickBooks, CRM required.Ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionExcellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsAbility to effectively recruit, train, and manage sales team members, as neededSelf-motivated with strong integrity, initiative, and accountability· Excellent attention to detail combined with ability to see the big picture· Track record of working well independently and as part of a dynamic team· Exercise good judgment and good decision-making· Being responsive to changing priorities and needs· Initiative, flexibility and a good sense of humor· Clean driving record, current driver’s license, able to drive long distancesPreferred QualificationsExperience in the coffee, food, or CPG industryExperience working in a small business or entrepreneurial environmentFamiliarity with wholesale and retail distribution channelsExperience effectively working with CRMs and developing or scaling sales systemsSuccess MetricsContinued wholesale revenue growth and profitabilityExpansion into new markets or channelsStrength and retention of key customer relationshipsEffectiveness and scalability of sales processesStrong collaboration, contribution to business strategy and a positive company cultureWorks effectively within a budgetDisclaimer:The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals in this job. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) salaried position with excellent benefits, including company pays 100% of health, dental, life, and disability insurances; generous paid time off, reimbursement for out-of-pocket healthcare expenses, reimbursement for child care/elder care expenses, plus a 401K with 5% of salary contributed by the company.
