Java Architect Lead

Job Title: Java Architect LeadLocation: Dublin, OHDuration: Long term ContractRole OverviewWe are seeking a Java Architect Lead with strong hands-on development and architectural leadership experience to own and drive enterprise-scale Java initiatives. The ideal candidate will act as a technical leader, guiding the team through architecture decisions, best practices, and end-to-end delivery while remaining deeply involved in design and development.This role requires lead-level ownership, strong Microservices and Spring Boot expertise, and the ability to mentor teams while partnering closely with stakeholders.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the architecture, design, and development of enterprise Java applications using Microservices architectureTake full ownership of technical delivery, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliabilityProvide architectural guidance and technical leadership to development teamsDesign and implement solutions using Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and modern Java frameworksDefine and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and best practicesCollaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutionsReview code, mentor developers, and drive continuous improvement across the teamSupport application modernization, cloud readiness, and DevOps-aligned development practicesIdentify and resolve complex technical issues and architectural risks Required Skills & Qualifications10+ years of experience in Java application development5+ years in a Java Architect / Technical Lead roleStrong hands-on expertise with:Java (8+)Spring BootMicroservices architectureREST APIsExperience with enterprise system design, integration patterns, and distributed systemsProven ability to lead teams, make architectural decisions, and drive deliveryStrong understanding of performance tuning, scalability, and security best practices.Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development workflows
