Software Developer
Job Overview:
Utilant is seeking a Software Developer to help design, develop, test, and maintain software applications that support insurance inspection management, risk assessment, and business workflow automation. This role involves building application features, integrating data systems, improving software performance, and delivering reliable solutions for insurance and property inspection workflows.
The ideal candidate enjoys solving technical challenges, writing maintainable code, and collaborating with engineering and product teams to deliver scalable software solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and platform features.
- Build and enhance web-based applications that support inspection management and insurance workflows.
- Develop backend services, APIs, and integrations with external systems.
- Write clean, reusable, efficient, and well-documented code.
- Work with databases to support data processing, reporting, and application functionality.
- Troubleshoot software defects and improve application stability and performance.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, QA professionals, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and deployment activities.
- Implement secure coding practices and help protect sensitive business data.
- Maintain technical documentation and follow software development standards.
- Support existing applications and contribute to platform enhancements.
- Participate in Agile development processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Experience in software development or application engineering.
- Knowledge of one or more programming languages, such as C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, and data-driven applications.
- Understanding of REST APIs, application integrations, and web technologies.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and develop effective solutions.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with technical teams and manage development tasks effectively.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with .NET, ASP.NET Core, or other modern application frameworks.
- Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks and web application development.
- Knowledge of cloud services, application hosting, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with automated testing and software quality assurance.
- Understanding of SaaS platforms and workflow automation.
- Familiarity with insurance technology, inspection management, or risk assessment software.
- Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
