Tanker owner seeks Marine Superintendent with prior tanker sailing experienceEnsure fleet operational excellence by upholding the highest standards of Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) practices.Ensure compliance of vessels within the team with all international Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) regulations.Contribute to addressing and resolving nonconformities, while sharing best practices and recommended changes with the Corporate HSSEQ.Ensure the fleet upholds the highest standards of navigation excellence.DIMENSIONS (Financial and Organization Perspective)Financial Perspective:Budget Management: Monitor the execution budgets for vessel maintenance, repairs, andoperations.Cost Control: Implement cost-control measures while ensuring compliance and safety.Organization Perspective:Team Leadership: Lead and support vessel crews, ensuring adherence to company policies.Training and Development: Facilitate ongoing training and development to maintain HSSE andoperational standards.Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with departments such as Technical Operations team, Corporate HSSEQ, and etc for cohesive operations.Compliance and Inspection: Conduct ship visit for company and oil major compliance.Incident Management: Manage incident investigations, implementing corrective actions andimprovements.Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders, ensuring transparency and trust in vesseloperations.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:Safety and Environmental ManagementTo make sure that the vessel is maintained to ISM/ISO/ISPS standards.To review all safety committee meeting and SMR minutes and respond to vessels as required.Ensure action items mentioned in the minutes are followed up and closed out.Manage and respond to NCN/near miss reports. Ensuring that any MOC’s and improvement ideas are forwarded to the Corporate HSSEQ. To investigate/respond and support any incident/injury on the vessel and prepare an initial report.Monitor and manage Port State Control and Flag State inspections and their close-outs.Maintain nautical standards on board to the highest standards.Ensure vessel is operating to the company standards of environmental excellence.Emergency PreparednessTo conduct and review ship-shore drills and share the drill reviews with the Corporate HSSEQRisk ManagementTo review and manage all the risk assessments from vessels. Carry out the established processes to mitigate and minimize the risks.AuditsEnsure vessels are prepared for the various internal and external audits. Responsible for guiding the vessel in responding and closing out the audit findings.Vessel SupportWill be responsible for briefing/de-briefing and mentoring of sea staff. Conduct regular visits to the vessels under his charge.SecurityResponsible for all aspects of security of the vessel.ORGANIZATION:To refer to the latest division organization structure.KEY CHALLENGES:Maximizing the operational efficiency with cost-effectiveness while maintaining high standards of performance and safety.To eliminate the navigational incident.Rising trend of personal injury in the fleet.Rising trend of Port State Control inspection findings.STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT:Ship OwnersCharterers.Within the MISC Marine.Crew Members.Port Authorities.Regulatory Bodies.Suppliers and Service Providers.Insurance and P&I ClubsShipping AgenciesSpecialist Knowledge / Skills Sound knowledge of shipping industry and tanker business, with emphasis on vessel navigational,cargo and assurance requirements. Technically competent with proven expertise in developing and implementing processes withimproved efficiency and effectiveness within the shipping environment.Good troubleshooting abilities.Shipping legal/regulatory expertise.Build & motivate team towards business goals.Knowledge of financial reporting and budgeting.Operational and strategic planning.Change management & facilitation.EXPERIENCE:At least 2 years of experience as sea going Chief Engineer or Master.Ideally 2 or more years shore management experience in shipping companies.Command / Chief Engineer experience on board oil/gas tankers and working for a ship owner in afleet management role.QUALIFICATION:Professional Qualification Maritime related degree or Certificate of Competency Class 1.
