Tower Tech Apprentice
We are seeking Tower Technicians Apprentices to join our team. The ideal candidates will have a strong telecommunications background, a commitment to safety, a keen eye for detail, pride in workmanship and an excellent ability to work in a team environment. As a Tower Technician Apprentice, you will assist the lead with the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications sites and related equipment, ensuring projects are completed on time, and to the highest standards.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Assist in running lines and antennas to tech team; ensure all wiring and cables run neat and orderly
Assemble steel mounts and supporting brackets
Assist with mounting of equipment
Work effectively and efficiently supporting team of 3-4 crew members
Development of project document and JHA understanding
Work at various heights including climbing up to 180 ft towers while wearing approximately 30lbs of safety equipment
Assess and communicate hazardous conditions
Be attentive when given direction by superiors
Willingness to learn industry equipment and standards/best practices
Willingness to learn various carrier RF components and install best practices and requirements
Learning how to obtain required closeout information per foreman’s direction
Willingness to adhere to and support the company safety program
Great organizational skills for truck and trailer upkeep
Ability to keep job sites clean and organized
Assist in daily job prep and truck prep
Pass extensive safety training programs

Additional Tasks/Responsibilities
Overnight travel when required
Willing to be flexible with possible weekend work or outages
Ability to work outside year-round
Ability to work in unfavorable weather conditions
Willing to work 40+ hours a week

Position requires the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift body weight, PPE, equipment, tools and/or boxes. You must be able to safely perform the following types of activities daily as a part of your regular duty position.

Pushing up to 75 lbs. occasionally up to 33% of the workday.

Background/Experience:
0-6 months minimum experience
