About the Role
The Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GN&C) Subsystems and CoreSim Team is made up of enthusiastic and talented individuals that design and produce the hardware, algorithms, and software required to solve the challenging problems of controlling spacecraft systems in a harsh, zero‑g environment.
This position will report directly to the GN&C Manager within the GN&C Talent Center organization of Lockheed Martin Space.
As a GN&C analyst, you will support and lead a program within multiple satellite buses in Lockheed Martin’s portfolio including the LM400 and LM2100 satellite series.
Key Responsibilities
Design, analyze, and optimize GN&C subsystem dynamics and control systems using MATLAB/Simulink.
Develop and verify high‑fidelity simulation models in MATLAB/Simulink and C++ environments.
Support system integration, test, and verification activities to ensure subsystem performance meets program requirements.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout the program life cycle, from requirements through verification and validation.
Contribute to mission operations and post‑launch performance assessments, as needed.
Lead a small team of engineers to execute on program milestones and support system‑level design reviews.
Own the GN&C subsystem output, including plans for PDR, CDR, SIQT, delivery and launch through the design life cycle.
Basic Qualifications
At least 5+ years of related experience.
Post‑secondary degree or training in Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
Subject‑matter expertise in spacecraft controller design and optimization.
Experience developing and verifying performance of simulation models using MATLAB/Simulink and C++.
Desired Skills
Experience with CORESIM.
Flight software development experience with autocode to C++ and Python.
Attitude determination and Kalman filter experience.
Multi‑body dynamics experience.
Familiarity with GN&C hardware suite for space applications.
Experience through a spacecraft program life cycle, including requirements generation, design, analysis, integration, verification, and testing.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors, and customers.
Active security clearance.
Security Clearance / Work Authorization
Position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. citizen.
Eligible to obtain and maintain Top Secret with adjudicated SCI (TS/SCI) clearance for long‑term employment on this program.
Salary & Benefits
Annual base salary range: $123,500 - $217,695 for California, Massachusetts, and NewYork (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, NewJersey, Vermont, Washington, or WashingtonDC. For other states the range may differ based on location.
