Senior Quality Control Program Manager - Energy

Position SummaryThe Senior QC Program Manager is a strategic leadership position responsible for developing Roncelli’s QC program and providing oversight of all quality control activities for the Energy Group, ensuring that utility-scale solar & BESS projects are executed in compliance with contract requirements, technical specifications, regulatory standards, and Roncelli’s quality expectations. This role directs a team of Site QC Managers and field inspectors, manages multi-project quality programs, and serves as a key liaison with clients, OEMs, commissioning teams, and regulatory agencies. The Senior QC Manager drives continuous improvement, supports commissioning readiness, and ensures accurate documentation and reporting across the portfolio of projects.Travel Expectations: This is an on-site, field-based position requiring daily presence at assigned project sites. Travel to other project locations may be required based on assignment, along with occasional travel to Roncelli’s headquarters in Sterling Heights, Michigan.Candidates should include their project list, resume, and preference for travel when applying for the role. Actual compensation within the posted range will be based on qualifications, experience, and overall alignment with the role requirements.Why Join Team RoncelliCompetitive Pay & Benefits: We offer market-based salaries and a full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and a 401K with match and profit sharing.Work-Life Balance: Employees receive generous PTO, sick days, paid holidays, fully paid maternity leave, paternity leave, and flexible schedules.Growth Opportunities: We support professional development, mentorship, and career advancement.Safety Commitment: Safety is central to our culture, ensuring your expertise and contributions are valued and protected.Role and ResponsibilitiesProgram & Project OversightLead quality programs across multiple concurrent Energy/BESS projectsDevelop standardized QC procedures, templates, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)Provide strategic guidance and direction to Site QC Managers and field QC staffEstablish and maintain project-specific and program-wide Quality Control PlansEnsure consistent implementation of inspection procedures, testing, and documentation standardsInspection & TestingOversee execution of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) across all projectsCoordinate and review Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and pre-functional/functional testing activitiesReview critical inspections and approve closure of non-conformancesEnsure readiness for commissioning, energization, and client turnoverDocumentation & ReportingMaintain program-level quality documentation and dashboardsMonitor and ensure accuracy of inspection reports, NCRs, and turnover packagesGenerate periodic reports for leadership and clients on quality performancePrepare for and support internal and external auditsClient & Regulatory CoordinationServe as primary QC liaison for clients, OEMs, and regulatory agenciesParticipate in project kickoffs, quality meetings, and technical reviewsAddress client or regulatory quality concerns and implement corrective actionsContinuous Improvement & LeadershipDrive program-wide continuous improvement initiativesImplement lessons‑learned processes, field quality training, and program improvements across all projectsStandardize inspection requirements for critical activities including pile installation, tracker assembly, module installation, DC testing, grounding, MV systems, inverter installation, and BESS integration.Identify trends in non-conformance and implement preventive measuresMentor and develop QC leadership and field staffPromote a proactive safety and quality culture across projectsSkills and KnowledgeStrong knowledge of quality management systemsFamiliarity with electrical and civil construction standardsExcellent documentation and audit skillsStrong leadership and communication abilitiesStrong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with field teams, site leadership, owners, and inspectors.Demonstrated ability to reinforce safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory compliance on active construction sites.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferredExperience: Minimum 10 years in QC experience in construction or energy projects.BESS, solar, utility, or industrial experience strongly preferredExperience managing multi-site quality programsCertifications: OSHA 30 required (or ability to complete within 30 days); CPR and First Aid preferred.Screening Requirements: Pre-employment and annual drug testing required; background check, including driving record, as required by client.Valid Drivers License required.Working Environment and Physical RequirementsWork is performed in both office and active construction environments. Frequent travel to project sites is required to oversee quality activities. Team members must be able to traverse uneven terrain, climb ladders or stairs, and wear required PPE. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, dust, and electrical/mechanical hazards is expected.
