Sanitor - 1st shift

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PMBasic Purpose:The Sanitor assists with for cleaning & sanitizing of all surfaces & equipment in the food production and storage areas, and building structure.Tasks are to be completed while maintaining the highest safety, food safety and quality, cost and GMP standards in a high speed manufacturing environment.Responsibilities:Cleaning & sanitizing of all surfaces & equipment in the food production and storage areasDisassembling equipmentRead chemical labels to ensure safe applicationsHandle, mix and store cleaning chemicalsAdd specified amounts of chemicals to equipment at required times to maintain solution levels and concentrationsDry and Wet cleaning of Food contact surfaces, equipment and building structureClean and sanitize equipment using chemicals and foamier, pressure wash and/or sanitation sprayerManually scrub certain areas of machines using brushes, scrapers or scrub padsClean floors using powered floor scrubberPerform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during long periods of timeLift cleaning materials and production equipment manuallyFollow all Health and Safety guidelines established for this positionSupports all efforts to improve, maintain and validate safety and sanitation practices and proceduresOther responsibilities as assigned by the Sanitation SupervisorQualifications:High School Diploma or (GED) requiredMust be proficient in reading, writing, speaking and understanding English or Spanish.Previous experience working in a Food production environment preferred but not essentialFood safety and sanitation knowledge is a plusMechanical aptitude is a plusSuccessful candidates will be able to work well in a team settingWeekend work is required: You will work approximately (3) (12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday & Sunday)Willingness and ability to work any shift and to change shifts or work extended shifts to provide coverage for vacations and absences or changes in schedules due to business demandsWillingness and ability to work overtime as neededResponsibilities:Cleaning & sanitizing of all surfaces & equipment in the food production and storage areasDisassembling equipmentRead chemical labels to ensure safe applicationsHandle, mix and store cleaning chemicalsAdd specified amounts of chemicals to equipment at required times to maintain solution levels and concentrationsDry and Wet cleaning of Food contact surfaces, equipment and building structureClean and sanitize equipment using chemicals and foamier, pressure wash and/or sanitation sprayerManually scrub certain areas of machines using brushes, scrapers or scrub padsClean floors using powered floor scrubberPerform varying tasks while standing, lifting, crouching, etc. during long periods of timeLift cleaning materials and production equipment manuallyFollow all Health and Safety guidelines established for this positionSupports all efforts to improve, maintain and validate safety and sanitation practices and proceduresOther responsibilities as assigned by the Sanitation SupervisorPhysical Demands:Sitting 10%Walking 40%Standing 50%Speaking- ordinary speechNear acuity (clarity of vision at 20 inches or less)Hearing- ordinary conversationWork Environment:Exposure to fluorescent lightsExtreme climate or climate variationPotential hazards:Bumping into & slippingBeing hit by falling objectsBending, twisting, liftingBeing hit or run over by powered industrial vehicles.Eye injury associated with cleaning chemical usage.FallsExposure to chemicalsHand and power tool injuriesHazards controls:Training on housekeeping issues and awareness of location.Training on stock arrangement techniques.Training in proper methods of lifting and load handling.Training in the proper use of powered equipment and certification of the operator's capabilities.Training- properly located face shield and emergency eye wash station.Training all quality and safety programs.Compensation and Benefits:New starting wage is $18.00 / hour (commensurate with experience and location). *Note that rate could change based on a shift schedule.Medical, Prescription, Dental, and Vision CoverageFlexible spending accountsDisability coverageLife insuranceCritical illness and accident insuranceLegal and identity protection insurancePet insuranceEmployee assistance programCommuter benefitsTuition assistanceAdoption assistance401(k)PTOParental LeaveHain Celestial is an equal employment opportunity/affirmative action employer.
