Small Engine Mechanic

Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Small Engine Mechanic, where your expertise will power up a variety of small engines and equipment! In this energetic role, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain small engines used in lawnmowers, chainsaws, generators, and other outdoor power equipment. Your mechanical skills and passion for troubleshooting will ensure our customers' equipment runs smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities Perform detailed diagnostics on small engines to identify issues accurately using schematics and technical manuals Repair and overhaul small engines, including carburetors, ignition systems, fuel systems, and electrical components Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug replacements, and filter replacements to ensure optimal performance Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and heavy lifting techniques to complete repairs effectively Interpret technical schematics and electrical diagrams to troubleshoot complex engine problems Test repaired equipment to verify proper operation before returning it to the customer or inventory Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs performed Requirements Must have a truck for pickup and delivery service with a hitch attachment (hitch will be provided)- Fuel and Extra pay will be included with this Proven experience as a Small Engine Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership or equipment repair background Strong mechanical knowledge of small engines, including diesel engine repair and automotive repair skills Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, and troubleshooting electrical issues in small engines Experience working with specialized heavy machinery is a plus Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and heavy lifting safety practices Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately for diagnostics and repairs Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly Previous experience in equipment repair or generator repair is highly desirable Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and sales experience can be advantageous Embark on a career where your mechanical expertise fuels success!
