It is our mission to ensure that all scholars are firmly on the path to succeed within a four-year college and create positive change within their communities.The school opened in the fall of 2018 with Kindergarten and First Grade (two classes at each grade level). Persistence Prep will add a grade level each year until we are a fully enrolled K-8 charter school. We are looking for high capacity, energetic, detail oriented, and dedicated individuals to join our Team.Job DescriptionPersistence Prep seeks a highly qualified Behavior Intervention Specialist with knowledge and skills necessary to assist individuals, groups and systems through the application of positive behavior supports. The Behavior Specialist helps coordinate Functional Assessments of Behavior and Behavior Intervention Plan that address scholars' behaviors and provide a means to help the scholars become more academically successful. The Behavior Intervention Specialist also provides classroom and school-wide behavior management strategies. The Behavior Intervention Specialist is responsible for building strong and positive relationships with scholars and families, using data to tailor their instruction, and actively engaging in collaboration with their colleagues.Job ExpectationsUphold the mission and vision of the schools every second of every dayExecute school-wide systems and structures that maximize scholar learningReinforce a disciplined culture of high academic and behavioral expectationsCollaborate with the Scholar Support Team to design, coordinate, implement and evaluate a comprehensive behavior support programImplement activities to help scholars meet academic and social goalsManage family relationships for scholars on your caseload who receive counseling services and respond to family concerns promptlyProvide crisis intervention and behavior management to build scholars' ability to meet our school's high expectations.Partner with other school leaders and staff members to design and coordinate family engagement and family education activities, including but not limited to workshops to educate families, staff, or scholars on specific issues, potlucks, family nights, and/or other community-building eventsShare responsibility for grade-level and school-wide prioritiesAttend and participate in events outside of normal school hours (i.e. families nights, scholar performances, conferences, and family orientations)Actively participate in professional development sessionsComplete all duties and tasks as assigned.
