CAD Designer

OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Jewelry CAD Designer to join our team. This role is ideal for a technically precise and creatively minded designer with deep expertise in 3D modeling and a thorough understanding of fine jewelry construction and manufacturing. You will be responsible for translating design concepts into accurate, production-ready CAD models and working closely with our design and production teams to bring collections to life. This is a hybrid role based in New York City, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the time.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate detailed 3D CAD models of fine jewelry designs using Rhino, translating hand sketches, design briefs, and concept drawings into precise, manufacturable filesEnsure all CAD files meet production specifications for casting, stone setting, and finishingDesign complex mechanisms — including hinges, clasps, and articulated elements — with a focus on precision, durability, and wearabilityCollaborate with design and production teams to troubleshoot technical challenges and optimize designs for manufacturabilityMaintain organized, version-controlled CAD files across multiple concurrent projectsProduce high-quality renders or animations for client presentations and internal review as neededQualifications5+ years of professional experience in jewelry CAD designProficiency in Rhino (required); experience with additional 3D modeling or rendering software is a plusStrong understanding of jewelry manufacturing processes, including casting, assembly, stone setting, and finishingExcellent knowledge of gemstone types, cuts, setting techniques, and production tolerancesDemonstrated ability to design for technical precision while maintaining a refined aesthetic sensibilityHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlinesStrong communicator who can work cross-functionally across design and production teams
