Quality Engineer

Position: Quality EngineerPosition Type: Direct HireLocation: Holland, MIShift: 1st Shift (Mon–Fri, 100% On-site)Compensation: $80,000 – $95,000 (based on experience)Position Overview:Seeking a Quality Engineer for an automotive manufacturing facility in Holland, MI.In this role, you will support the development and implementation of quality procedures, work instructions, and standards while serving as the primary contact for customer quality issues. You will work with internal and external teams to resolve product and process concerns efficiently. You will act as a key problem-solving resource, identifying and addressing quality issues and supporting efforts to prevent recurrence. This includes using tools such as SPC, DOE, continuous improvement methods, and other quality tools to reduce defects and improve processes. You will also support product and data analysis, including comparative and competitive evaluations, to ensure effective decision-making. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed, including supporting or guiding other team members. Position Responsibilities:Serve as the main point of contact for customer quality issues (phone, email, and customer portals)Collect, review, and document customer reject information in a timely mannerSupport analysis of rejected parts, including part review and sample evaluationCoordinate sorting activities at customer locations when needed, including issuing RMAs and purchase ordersCreate and manage 8D problem-solving reports (Sections 1–3) and ensure timely customer communicationSupport quality alerts, containment actions, and internal nonconformance activitiesAssist in development and implementation of quality procedures, work instructions, and standardsDrive root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurring issuesSupport manufacturing improvements using SPC, DOE, and continuous improvement toolsPerform product, process, and data analysis to identify trends and improvement opportunitiesEnsure compliance with ISO/IATF quality systems and internal quality policiesSupport additional tasks and projects as neededPosition Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience in automotive/quality environment)Strong ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret dataExperience with problem-solving and root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, PFMEA, PPAP, SPC)Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work independentlyStrong organizational and time management skillsProficiency with computers, data analysis, and reporting toolsAbility to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teamsAbout Spark Talent Acquisition:Spark Talent Acquisition is a Michigan-headquartered recruiting and staffing company that connects great talent with great employers.
