The hotel will feature 121 guest rooms, positioning it as a key addition to Pensacola’s growing hospitality and tourism landscape.WWW.Hoteltristan.ComGeneral Manager Hotel TristenLocation: Pensacola, FL 32502 Full-Time, Exempt Reports To: Regional Director of OperationsPosition SummaryThe General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and profitability of the hotel, overseeing all departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, and Engineering.This role drives operational excellence, financial performance, and guest satisfaction by leading a high-performing team, executing brand and company standards, and ensuring alignment with company goals. The General Manager serves as the on-property leader, accountable for delivering results across revenue, expense management, team development, and guest experience.This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a balance of strategic oversight and hands-on execution. The ideal candidate brings strong hospitality leadership experience, the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, and a proven track record of building teams and driving consistent operational performance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring alignment with company standards, brand expectations, and business objectivesDrive financial performance by achieving or exceeding revenue, profit, and budget targetsPartner with Sales and Revenue Management to support pricing, positioning, and demand generation strategiesOversee labor management, scheduling, and cost controls to ensure operational efficiency and budget adherenceLead, coach, and develop department leaders, building a strong leadership bench and accountability cultureEnsure exceptional guest experience through consistent execution of service standards and proactive issue resolutionEstablish and maintain effective operating procedures across all departmentsOversee property-level Human Resources functions, including hiring, performance management, employee relations, and complianceEnsure compliance with all safety, OSHA, and regulatory requirementsConduct regular property walkthroughs and inspections to ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and brand standards are upheldPartner with Engineering to maintain an effective preventative maintenance program and ensure all equipment is operationalMonitor inventory levels and operational supplies to ensure proper controls and availabilityLead daily/weekly communication routines (stand-ups, leadership meetings) to ensure alignment and executionParticipate in revenue strategy and sales calls, contributing operational insight and execution alignmentMaintain awareness of local market conditions, competition, and demand driversMaintain flexibility to support operations across all shifts as neededPerform other duties as assigned to support overall hotel performanceQualificationsBachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered5+ years of progressive hotel leadership experience, including department head or General Manager levelStrong understanding of hotel operations, financial performance, and labor managementExperience managing multiple departments within a full-service or lifestyle hotel environmentProven ability to lead teams, develop talent, and drive accountabilityStrong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L managementExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentProficiency in hotel systems (PMS, POS, labor management, reporting tools)Core CompetenciesOperational leadership and executionFinancial management and business acumenTeam development and coachingGuest experience and service excellenceProblem-solving and decision-makingCommunication and leadership presencePhysical Requirements & Work EnvironmentThis role is based on-property and requires frequent interaction with team members, guests, and operational environments.The Position May InvolveStanding and moving throughout the hotel for extended periodsFrequent interaction in guest-facing and operational areasOccasional lifting of up to 25 poundsParticipation in property walkthroughs, inspections, and operational supportSchedule RequirementsFlexible schedule required to meet business needsAvailability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as neededAbility to respond to operational needs outside of standard business hoursBenefitsEligible team members may participate in the following:Medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPaid time offFlexible spending accountsLife and AD&D insuranceShort- and long-term disabilityEmployee assistance programHotel employee discount programAbout UsAt Tandem Hospitality Group, we believe great hospitality starts with great people.
