Senior Accountant

Position Summary:Core Molding Technologies is hiring a Senior Accountant to support corporate financial reporting, capital accounting, and audit processes across a multi-site manufacturing organization.In this role, you'll take ownership of fixed assets, tooling, and capital project accounting while partnering cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and plant teams. This is a high-impact role with visibility to leadership and opportunities to improve processes and reporting.ResponsibilitiesOwn accounting and reporting for capital projects, tooling, and fixed assets (capitalization, amortization, impairments)Maintain and ensure accuracy of the fixed asset and tooling subledgerReview and approve capital-related entries, ensuring proper classification between expense and capitalPartner with Engineering, Operations, and plant teams on project tracking, capitalization timing, and in-service datesSupport month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processesPrepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and financial analysesAnalyze capital spend, project performance, and financial impactsSupport external audits and act as a key contact for fixed assets, tooling, and insurance-related areasAssist with SOX/internal controls and compliance with GAAPSupport income tax processes in coordination with external advisorsDrive process improvements in capital tracking, reporting, and systemsPrepare ad hoc reporting and analysis for leadershipQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting4+ years of accounting experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively across functions and levelsPreferredCPA or CPA trackPublic accounting and/or public company experienceExperience with fixed assets, capital projects, or manufacturing environmentsVBA or advanced Excel automation experienceJob DetailsSchedule: Monday to FridayTravel: Up to 10%Work Environment: Office with occasional plant exposurePhysical Requirements: Occasionally lift up to 25 lbsWhy Join UsCompetitive compensationFull benefits package401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysExposure to cross-functional leadership and strategic projectsOpportunity to drive process improvements in a growing organizationRecruitersWe do not accept unsolicited resumes from third-party agencies.
