This pivotal role involves leading the development and maintenance of cutting-edge technology solutions within our credit card services, including risk underwriting, portfolio management, and merchant services. As a key member of our engineering team, you will drive the design, implementation, and enhancement of enterprise-level applications, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business objectives. You will oversee multiple SCRUM teams, mentor junior developers, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders, architects, and external partners to deliver high-quality solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a new, custom-developed platform and contribute to automating testing processes, ultimately shaping the future of our credit services technology landscape.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 6 years of experience in software application development and maintenance.Or High School Diploma or GED with at least 10 years of relevant experience.Strong experience designing or modifying modern microservice-based systems.Proficiency in Java 11+ and related frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot.Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, design patterns, and object-oriented design (OOD/OOA).Hands-on experience with version control systems like Git.Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum.Familiarity with automation testing frameworks, React UI development, and CI/CD pipeline development.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.ResponsibilitiesLead all aspects of software development within the domain, including research, design, technology insertion, development, testing, and support.Partner with business stakeholders and architects to develop technical solutions that meet functional, performance, scalability, and reliability requirements.Manage and mentor multiple technical leads overseeing SCRUM teams, providing coaching and escalation support.Drive initiatives to improve quality, speed, and throughput of development processes across the domain.Oversee proactive maintenance of existing IaaS, SaaS, and on-premise applications within Digital, Cards, Risk, and Merchant Services areas.Coordinate troubleshooting efforts for code defects, data errors, and configuration issues to ensure system stability.Support complex, business-critical applications to ensure high availability and performance.Implement and enforce departmental best practices, coding standards, and guidelines.Design and develop real-time and file-based integrations, optimizing database processing for efficiency.Foster a positive developer experience by creating maintainable, secure, and well-documented code.Continuously seek personal growth and contribute to team development through mentorship and knowledge sharing.BenefitsCompetitive salary range of $145,000 to $175,000, commensurate with experience and skills.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans.Retirement savings options including 401(k) with company match.Paid time off and holidays to support work-life balance.Professional development opportunities and continuous learning programs.Flexible work arrangements supporting remote work across multiple markets.Inclusive and supportive company culture promoting diversity and inclusion.Equal OpportunityFirst Citizens Bank is an equal opportunity employer.
