The company manages complex, multi-entity operations, including active construction projects, development entities, and holding companies. Job DescriptionOwn the general ledger, monthly close process, and GAAP-compliant financial statementsLead construction cost accounting, including WIP, revenue recognition, job cost controls, and margin analysisOversee public-sector billing, including AIA billing, schedules of values, retainage, requisitions, and change ordersPrepare and manage cash flow forecasts across active jobs, development entities, and holding companiesPerform budget versus actual analysis at both job and company level, identifying financial risks earlyManage audits, tax compliance, insurance, bonding, and banking relationshipsPartner closely with operations, project managers, and estimators to translate field activity into financial insightLead, develop, and manage the accounting team, establishing structure, cadence, and accountability MUST BE ON SITE 5x PER WEEK. The Successful ApplicantA successful Construction Controller should have:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance10+ years of experience in construction accounting, preferably within a mid-sized or larger general contractor environment (~10M-50M)Deep expertise in WIP accounting, cost accounting, and public-sector billingCPA preferred but not requiredProficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team collaboration.Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
