Commercial Lines Account Manager
Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers.Brown & Brown is seeking a Account Manager to join our Commercial Lines team in Portland, Oregon.The Commercial Lines Account Manager will have the opportunity to provide exceptional service to commercial insurance clients while supporting Producers in the placement of new and renewal business. This role includes preparing applications, marketing accounts, issuing documentation, and coordinating with carriers to ensure accurate and timely delivery of coverage. Responsibilities also include resolving policy and coverage concerns, maintaining client files, and staying current on industry trends to deliver informed guidance and solutions.How You Will ContributeAssist Producers in the placement of new and renewal business.Prepare and send Future ACORD applications to market for Renewal indications, per AE/Producer instructions.Assist with the marketing of New Business.Provide direct customer service support for commercial lines clients.Issue appropriate documentation, as needed including certificates of insurance, auto insurance ID cards, etc.Compose or assist in composition of highly technical or sensitive correspondence.Ability to translate highly technical information for the client’s understanding.Compile applications, negotiate with underwriters and prepare proposals for new and renewal business proposals/offeringsContact clients and/or underwriters to obtain additional information or answer questions.Resolve policy and coverage related concerns for clients, insurance carriers, and Producers.Ability to communicate negative actions to the client, while offering a solution to remedy the situation.Bind or place coverage with acceptable carriers adhering to appropriate carriers binding authority.Stay current on company insurance products and offerings.Be cognizant of developments in the marketplace, including product line offerings, changing insurance consumer trends and needs when advising clients.Set up and maintain electronic file information in the Agency Management System including data entry and client & policy database maintenance.Licenses And CertificationsCurrent Property & Casualty License and appropriate Non-Resident LicensesProfessional designation (ACSR, CIC, CPCU, CISR) (Preferred)Skills & Experience To Be SuccessfulHigh school diploma or equivalent5-7 years of recent agency experience handling the service of multi-line commercial lines book of businessWorking knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook)Working knowledge of carrier websites (Preferred)Experience with Agency Management Software Systems (Preferred)This position may require routine or periodic travel which may require the teammate to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle.
