Information Technology Generalist

This is a hands-on, high-impact IT Generalist opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the full IT experience, from infrastructure to end-user support. You’ll be the go-to technical problem solver, working independently while partnering closely with leadership to keep systems secure, stable, and running at peak performance.In this role, you won’t be siloed. You’ll touch everything: servers, networks, workstations, cloud tools, security, and user support—giving you broad exposure and the chance to continuously grow your skill set.Position PurposeThe IT Generalist is responsible for maintaining, supporting, and improving the organization’s IT environment. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of systems while providing responsive technical support to end users.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and maintain IT hardware and software, including servers, workstations, printers, and network equipmentPerform routine system maintenance such as updates, patching, backups, and monitoring to ensure system stability and securityDiagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues independently or in coordination with internal teams and external vendorsProvide timely, customer-focused technical support to users both onsite and remotelyManage user accounts, access rights, and permissions across systems and applicationsSupport the evaluation and implementation of new technologies to improve operational efficiencyCreate and maintain technical documentation, including procedures, user guides, and knowledge base articlesDeliver training and guidance to users on technology tools and IT best practicesStay current on emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance the IT environmentFollow all company, safety, and OSHA guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work areaEducation & Technical RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experiencePrior experience in an IT Generalist or similar role with broad technical exposureProficiency with Windows and macOS operating systems and common business applications, including Microsoft OfficeWorking knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNExperience with Active Directory, Group Policy, and user administrationFamiliarity with IT security best practices and system hardeningPreferred QualificationsIndustry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certificationsExperience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
