Lead Estimator Job Description Prepare estimates based on plans and specifications, solicit bids from subcontractors, holds pre-bid meetings and distributes design information. Creates proposals, bid presentation documents, outline schedules, budgets, and manages bid days. Works with the project manager and Director of Preconstruction. Responsibilities Design Review & Coordination Schematic and Design Development Budgets and Presentation Bid Solicitation & Collection Quantity Takeoff Scope of Work Coordination Scope Adherence Plan & Specification Review Contractor Pre-Bid Meetings Bid Tabulation Estimate Creation Bid Presentation Database & Data Management Proposal Letters Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in construction management or associated qualification. If no degree held, a competent resume of construction management experience is required Capable of understanding plans and specifications and able to relate them effectively to subcontractors and owners Strong working knowledge of construction means and methods, subcontractor capabilities and building materials Good working knowledge of contracts, insurance, and bonding Familiarity with construction software for takeoff and preparing estimates – Sage Estimating/On Screen Takeoff Proficient in Microsoft office Able to use scheduling software and capable of putting a working schedule together Understanding of consultant’s responsibilities and our obligations for Design Bid Build, Construction Manager at Risk and Design Build delivery methods Knowledge of building code and city requirements Benefits Competitive salary Health, Accident, and Life Insurance Supplemental Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid Holidays and Vacation YMCA Membership Training and Development Opportunities Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
